10 best lipsticks from Estée Lauder Pure Color Love
Last month Estée Lauder launched the mother of all lipstick collections with a whopping 30 shades in cream, matte and pearl finishes. The colours range from super safe from wildly experimental (pearlescent navy anyone?). So when they sent all 30 shades I was like a child in art class. Swatching, rubbing and removing every colour to find 10 favourites. I chose these shades for the same reason I choose any lipstick - it should make my skin look amazing. If you put on a spectacular colour that doesn’t make your complexion look bright and glowing, then it's not spectacular at all. So with that in mind, here are my top 10 colours. Oh and there’s no makeup, no filter, no special lighting in my photos…and I’m in my jammies.
It’s a creamy, pearly mauve/beige that looks good on all skin tones and is essential in every lip wardrobe. It is also the safest shade for gifting because it is so universal, meaning that it looks good on everyone and goes with everything.
This really has to be the most flattering dark lipstick ever. The orchid hue has the most beautiful purple tone that really make the complexion look clearer.
The perfect rosy/beige, which is a bit similar to Ripped Raisin but without the pearlescent effect. Perfect for girls who love lipstick but don’t want an obvious shade.
The most flattering orange-red EVER.
This creamy mauve-pink is soft and grown up. A safe, pretty pink, that you’ll enjoy wearing day and night.
A matte honey beige nude that is really good on its own. Makes the skin look brighter and would look amazing with a smokey eye.
Don’t be afraid of this dark blackberry hue. It’s not nearly as hardcore as it looks. Its a glossy, creamy violet that is perfect for women who have never tried dark lipstick before.
Finally, a contender for M.A.C Ruby Woo. This matte red looks good on everyone (trust me I’ve tried), it makes your complexion look more luminous. Plus, the texture is not drying at all.
Shock & Awe
The best hot pink lipstick that I have ever come across. My earlier favourite was Bobbi Brown Rich Lip Color in Cosmic Raspberry, but this one is definitely more elegant and wearable.
A beautiful brick shade that is perfect for fall. The matte texture makes it modern and flattering.
