5 Red Lipsticks That Suit Everyone

I’m always on the lookout for the perfect red. For me it’s the ultimate beautifier because it makes you look amazing even when you have no other makeup on. But red can be a tricky colour - it can either make your skin look radiant or sallow, so to find five shades that look good on everyone is by no means an easy task. Still, I put in the effort, and hopefully you’ll find a shade that compliments your skin perfectly.

Dior Doirific Mat in Splendor
I have to say that Diorific Mats are one of the most comfortable matte lipsticks that I’ve ever tried. They go on smoothly with intense colour in a single stroke and also wear off evenly leaving no obvious ring around the mouth. This is a dark, blue-toned crimson, which looks good on most women, especially those with darker skin tones.

M.A.C Lipstick in Ruby Woo
While this lipstick may be a bit uncomfortable because it feels a bit dry, it more than makes up because of the beautiful colour. This is one shade that really does make each and every skin tone look clear and radiant. The red is a bit vintage-looking in terms of colour and texture, and in my book that’s a huge plus.

Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick in Fiery
This is by far the most comfortable liquid lipstick. It doesn’t crack or flake and really does last through the day. The shade is a true red, which looks amazing on the fairest to the darkest complexions (trust me, I’ve tried it on many women). It’s also the shade to go for if you’re being photographed because it makes you look ultra glamorous.

Hourglass Lipstick in Icon
I just love an old-fashioned creamy lipstick, and in that regard Hourglass really does hit all the right spots. This vegan, cruelty-free makeup brand makes some of the best lipsticks in my opinion. While this shade is also available in the Opaque Rouge Liquid Lipstick from the same brand I find the cream version easier and more flattering to wear. This is a deep, deep crimson that feels moisturising on the lips and leaves behind a stain even when it wears off.

Cle De Peau Extra Rich Lipstick in 311
Please Google ‘Amanda Seyfried Cle de Peau’ and you’ll come across a stunning picture of the actress in a red dress wearing a standout scarlet lipstick, which is is this shade. While bright reds are tricky to wear, theres something about the formulation of this particular lipstick that makes it look both attention-grabbing and elegant. However I must warn you that the case needs to be bought separately as the bullet is only available in a refill pack, which makes it rather expensive.
